Privacy Policy.

Effective 19 July 2026 · applies to carpriceindex.com

The short version

This site works without knowing who you are. No accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no email collection. Your settings (region, currency, comparison list, any Data Studio drafts) live only in your own browser and are never transmitted to us. The only personal data processed anywhere is what every web host records to serve pages, and anything you choose to send us by email.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by drivenerve, an independent EU-based studio and the maker of the drivenerve family of driving tools ("we"). For anything in this policy, including data-controller identity details, write to hello@drivenerve.com; we answer identity requests directly and promptly.

What we process, and why

1 · Server logs (hosting)

Our hosting provider (Hostinger International Ltd.) automatically records standard access logs when you load a page: IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser user-agent and referrer. We use these only to operate, secure and debug the service. Legal basis in the EU/EEA and UK: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in running a secure website. Logs are retained for the short period set by the host and are not used to identify visitors.

2 · Data stored in your browser (not sent to us)

The site saves your preferences with your browser's localStorage so the tool works the way you left it: display region, display currency, your comparison list and any draft edits you make in the Data Studio. This storage is strictly functional, contains no identifiers, never leaves your device, and is therefore exempt from consent requirements under the EU ePrivacy rules. Clear it any time via your browser's site-data settings; the site keeps working with defaults.

3 · Email you send us

If you email hello@drivenerve.com, we process your address and message to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interest, or steps prior to a contract if you're proposing one. We keep correspondence only as long as needed for the conversation and any legal obligations.

What we do not do

  • No cookies are set by this site, first- or third-party, so there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
  • No analytics or measurement scripts run today.
  • No advertising, no profiling, no fingerprinting, and no sale or sharing of personal information (including "sale/share" as defined by the California CCPA/CPRA).
  • No newsletter or email list exists today; we do not collect email addresses on the site.

Features we may introduce, and how they will arrive

If we add any of the following, we will update this policy first, and each feature will launch in the most privacy-preserving form available:

  • Newsletter. Would use a named email-service provider, double opt-in confirmation, one-click unsubscribe in every message, and consent as the legal basis. Signing up will never be required to use the site.
  • Analytics. Would be a cookieless, aggregate-only service (no cross-site tracking, no personal profiles). If any future tool requires consent, we will ask before it runs, not after.
  • Affiliate links. Some outbound links to marketplaces or services (already visible in the clearly labelled "market services" module on car pages) may become commission-earning partner links. Clicking such a link takes you to a third party under its own privacy policy; we would receive aggregate commission data, not your identity. Affiliate status will be disclosed on the page. Prices and ratings on this site are never influenced by partners.

Third-party links

Car pages link to independent services (for example vehicle-history checks, marketplaces, auction platforms) and the footer links to drivenerve.com. Those sites are operated by third parties under their own privacy policies; we don't control them and this policy stops where they begin.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including the EU/EEA and UK (GDPR/UK GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), Canada (PIPEDA), Australia and New Zealand (Privacy Acts) — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to complain to your supervisory authority (in the EU, your national DPA; in the UK, the ICO). Given how little we process, the practical answer is usually immediate: server logs expire on their own, browser storage is under your control, and email correspondence is deleted on request. Write to hello@drivenerve.com and we will act on any request within one month. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.

International transfers

The site is served from our host's infrastructure (with data centres in the EU where available). Email correspondence is processed where our mail provider operates. Where any transfer outside your jurisdiction occurs, it relies on the provider's standard safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

Children

The site is not directed at children and we knowingly collect no data from anyone, children included. Nothing here requires age verification because nothing here requires identity.

Changes

We will post any changes on this page with a new effective date. A change that introduced actual data collection (see "Features we may introduce") would be made prominent, not buried.
